This document provides a weekly checklist for IT project managers to remind them of critical tasks
to keep the project running smoothly:
Tasks to be completed in the first few weeks including verifying that the project charter/business case
has been developed; that the project objectives have been clearly stated; the project data sources
are clearly understood and available; that the project has been developed satisfactorily, etc.
Tasks to be completed every week thereafter including a frequent review of the project scope,
risks and issues, that no changes are necessary to the project budget and schedule, that project sponsors
and stakeholders are continually being updated with comprehensive status reports, etc.
Tasks to be completed for project closure including has the application been delivered to
production, has the project sponsor accepted the final project, are disaster recovery
procedures in place in the event of catastrophic failure, etc.?
